This is a special Memorial Day Weekend in Trenton, Iowa. On Saturday the community will dedicate a new Military Memorial. The memorial is intended to honor all those from the Trenton Community who have served in the United States Armed Forces. The Trenton American Legion Auxiliary Post 478 and the Trenton United Methodist Church jointly planned, provided funding, initiated the plans and built the memorial located in the Trenton Park. In addition to the black granite stone there is a name register that displays the names of those who served as far back as the Civil War. There are 315 total names. The dedication service will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 in Trenton Park. Everyone is welcome. Please bring lawn chairs.
