MP Middle School Team Takes Third at National History Day in DC

Shaleen Thiengmany, Erin Zihlman and Abby Ryon took their project, “Eunice Kennedy Shriver’s Leadership and Legacy: Changing the World’s View on the Mentally Disabled” to Washington D.C.to the National History Day Competition after winning the state competition and brought home the bronze in the Jr. Group Exhibit category. The three Mt. Pleasant middle school students and their teacher, Jennifer Stater spent June 14-18 at the competition with nearly 3,000 other middle school and high school students from the 50 states, District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico and international schools in Central America, China, Korea and South Asia.
