MP Big Winner at Invitational

The Mt. Pleasant High School Panther Marching Band brought home 13 trophies Saturday from the Monroe City Marching Band Invitational in Monroe City, Missouri. The event, which featured over 1400 musicians from 24 schools, consisted of parade marching and field show competitions, as well as indoor color guard and drumline competitions.

Mt. Pleasant placed first in the field show competition and also received a division one rating plus won all three caption awards for Best Drumline, Best Color Guard and Best Drum Majors. The band placed second in the parade marching competition, received a division one rating and won the three caption awards for Best Color Guard, Drumline and Drum Majors.

Mt. Pleasant took the top spot in both the indoor drumline and color guard competitions and topped the day off with winning the Fan Favorite Award.

On October 17 the Panther Marching Band will conclude the marching season by participating in the State Marching Band Festival in Muscatine in the afternoon and the Quincy Octoberfest Invitational in the evening.
