Mount Pleasant Street Work Update

Sanitary Sewer Rehab Point Repairs

Hagerty Earthworks will be leaving Webster St. closed from Corkhill to S. Locust St. through the weekend. They will be pouring a patch back tomorrow Friday April 12th and will be leaving this stretch of Webster St. closed to through traffic until the concrete reaches maturity. Webster St. will remain open between Corkhill and Walnut St.

Hagerty Earthworks will be working on Manhole Removals and Replacements the week of 4/15 to 4/19 on Green St. These are on the North side between the curb and sidewalk. Traffic will be one way only West to East during this time period. The West bound lane will be closed for construction equipment. Hagerty will be working with Mt Pleasant Utilities to relocate a waterline at the manhole locations.

Hagerty Earthworks will also be working on patches around town and I will send out an email when those occur that will involve closing of any streets the week of 4/15 to 4/19.

Sanitary Sewer Lining

Municipal Pipe & Tool will be lining in the alley South of Washington St. from 200’ East of Jay St. to 600’ East of Jay St. tomorrow Friday April 12th.

Jay Street Sewer Project

Alliant Energy has a Subcontractor working on Jay St. from Monroe St. to Madison St. lowering approx. 200’ of gas main on the West side. They will also be installing a new gas service to the home at the SW corner of Jay St. and Madison St. This work is to be completed by Tuesday April 16th or Wednesday April 17th. The plan is once this is completed Jones Contracting will be placing pavement on Jay St. Monroe St. to Madison St. Thursday April 18th or Friday April 19th weather permitting.

Alliant Energy has a Subcontractor also installing a new gas main along the South side of Madison St. from Hamlin St. to the West side of Jay St. They hope to have this work completed by April 19th weather permitting.

Mt Pleasant Utilities have been installing a new watermain along the South side of Madison St. from Hamlin to Jay St. they are planning on having this work completed by Thursday April 25th weather permitting. Drish Construction will be finishing storm sewer and grading at the same time on Madison St. The plan is that by the week of April 29th Jones will be able to start setting up to finish the paving on Hamlin St.

Drish Construction are working towards getting all backfill finished on Warren St., Clay St. and Jay St. up to Washington St. and seeded by May 1st.

Central Business District

Mt Pleasant Utilities and Drish Construction are moving right along on installing the new watermains on Monroe St. & Main St. They will be filling the watermain on Main St. from Washington St. Friday April 12th up to Monroe St. and then West on Monroe St. to Jefferson St. Then they can start the disinfection process, pressure testing and bacteria tests starting next week. Once the bacteria tests pass they will begin installing new water services to all Businesses.
