KILJ Radio and the Chamber of Commerce will host candidate forums in October, giving voters more than one chance to meet local candidates before the November 8 elections.
Thursday, October 6 at 5:30 pm join KILJ’s Paul Dennison and Theresa Rose for a conversation on the issues with incumbent Rich Taylor and his challenger for the state Senate seat, Danny Graber.
Thursday, October 13 at 5:30 pm our guests will be incumbent Dave Heaton and his opponent Carrie Duncan, both seeking the State Representative seat in the Iowa Legislature. These forums and KILJ coverage of the elections are courtesy of Two River Bank in Mt. Pleasant.
The Government Affairs Committee of the Mount Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce has organized three public forums for the community that will be held in the International Room of Chadwick Library at Iowa Wesleyan University.
These forums will be held on the first three consecutive Mondays in October. For each forum, the candidates will be available for questions and input from the public.
These forums, which are free and open to the public, will be held from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm on the following dates: Monday, October 3, Monday, October 10, and Monday, October 17.
Monday, October 3 will be the candidates for State Representative of our area, Dave Heaton and Carrie Duncan. Monday, October 10 will be the candidates for State Senate, Rich Taylor and Danny Graber. Monday, October 17 will be the candidates for County Offices, Auditor Shelly Barber, Sheriff Rich McNamee and County Supervisors Greg Moeller and Gary See.
