Mike Heaton Named Iowa Wesleyan Vice President for Advancement

Mount Pleasant, Iowa: March 12, 2018 – Iowa Wesleyan University is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Heaton as its new vice president for university advancement. Heaton is currently the managing director of the Great Plains Regional Office of UNICEF USA.

“Mike will bring great energy and steady leadership to our university advancement team at a time when Iowa Wesleyan is poised to push forward on an ambitious vision,” said President Steve Titus. “Growing up in Mount Pleasant, Mike fully appreciates how critical Iowa Wesleyan is to the quality of life and economic stability of Southeast Iowa. In addition, Mike stood out as an exceptional, results-oriented candidate with deep experience to lead Iowa Wesleyan’s advancement efforts at this momentous time in the university’s history. He is a seasoned advancement professional who brings a dynamic combination of development, community relations and passionate leadership. We are truly excited to have him join our university.”

Heaton earned his bachelor’s degree in religious studies from the University of Iowa and completed his master’s degree in non-profit management from Regis University.
