Mattie L. Manning, 72, of Bonaparte, formerly of Wayland, Iowa died at 2:05 A.M. Wednesday January 14, 2015 at Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua. She was born June 8, 1942 in Keota to Gilbert and Ethel McNeese Morrow and married Rex Manning July 1964 in Mt. Pleasant.
Mattie graduated from Washington Iowa High School and had worked as a corn sorter at Pioneer Hi-Bred Seed Company in Mt. Pleasant. The couple lived many years in Wayland and moved to Bonaparte in 1998. She was a member of the Independent Bible Church in Wayland. Her main interest was her family and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of Bonaparte, three daughters, Ardi Greenlee (Dave) of Washington, Donna Weber (Dave) of Sigourney and Patty Millard (Todd) of Salem, a son, James Manning of Keosauqua, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, four brothers, Melvin Morrow (Eloise) of Georgia, Donald Morrow (Inez) Oregon, Dick Morrow (Frances) and Larry Morrow (Evelyn), a sister, Lola Arbogast all of Wayland, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Jean Blessing and two brothers, Rodney and Dean Morrow.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday January 17, 2015 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with Pastor Robert Wolf officiating. Visitation will open at 3 P.M. Friday at the funeral home with family present from 5-7 P.M. Burial will be in Bonaparte Cemetery, Bonaparte. Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family may be left at the funeral home of mailed to the family at P.O. Box 29, Bonaparte, IA 52620.
