Lord’s Cupboard Reminds the Needy to Sign Up for Christmas Boxes

Written by Theresa Rose on October 27, 2015

Fairfield, Iowa – On December 18, the Lord’s Cupboard will once again distribute hundreds of Holiday Meal Boxes to low-income families in Jefferson County. Lord’s Cupboard clients who are on SNAP (food stamps) will receive a mailed invitation in early November; they are reminded to watch for the mailing and be sure to follow the instructions inside. Lord’s Cupboard clients who are not on SNAP should ask to be added to the list at The Lord’s Cupboard.
The Lord’s Cupboard will need plenty of help from the community to make the Holiday Meal Boxes happen again for 2015! For more information about donating and volunteering, please “Like” The Lord’s Cupboard’s Facebook page for the latest details.
The Lord’s Cupboard of Jefferson County is the county’s sole emergency food pantry and distributes about 500 food orders per month. Nearly half of those served by the pantry are under the age of 18. Donations of food or cash are always accepted at The Lord’s Cupboard, 54 S. B Street in Fairfield, Monday through Friday, 1:00-4:00 p.m. Credit card donations are gladly accepted at www.LordsCupboard.org.
