Linda Brock, former superintendent of schools at Ft. Dodge and Ft. Madison has accepted the Mt. Pleasant School District offer to serve as interim superintendent. The school board voted Monday night at the regular board meeting to offer the position to Brock who is retired and currently living in Packwood. The board approved a maximum salary of $136,000 for the year long position.
Linda Brock has an Educational Specialist degree and Master of Science in Education from Western Illinois University along with a Master of Arts in Speech Pathology and Bachelor of Science in Education from Truman State University. She retired after 36 years in public education serving as Superintendent in Fort Dodge from 2005-2010, Fort Madison from 2001-2005. Prior to that she held various Central Office positions in the Fort Madison School District from 1995-2001 and 15 years with Prairie Lakes and Mississippi Bend Area Education Agencies. She and her husband just recently returned to southeast Iowa and she is pleased to be able to work with the Mount Pleasant Community School District Board, staff and community.
