Lee County Fair Queen to be Crowned WednesdayWritten by Theresa Rose on July 6, 2015
There are six Lee County Fair Queen contestants this year. One of these young ladies will be crowned at the Fair’s opening ceremonies Wednesday at 6 pm in front of the grandstand at the fairgrounds in Donnellson. 17 year old Brittany Nye of Donnellson. She is the daughter of Janel Kent and Gary Nye and attends Central Lee High School. Olivia Hoenig is also 17. She is a student at Ft. Madison High School. She is the daughter of Terry and Jenni Hoenig of rural West Point. 18 year old Faith Cingle is a 2015 graduate of Central Lee. She lives in Ft. Madison and is the daughter of Larry Haynes and Melissa Haynes. Emma Newberry is from rural Argyle. She is the 17 year old daughter of Jason and Wendy Newberry and Matt and Annie Thornton and attends Central Lee. Rachel Mehmert is the daughter of Bob and Cathy Mehmert of rural West Point. She is a student at Holy Trinity Catholic High School and is also 17 years old. And last but not least….Danielle Hoenig is a 17 year old Central Lee student. She is from rural Keokuk and is the daughter of Francis and Keith Hoenig. KILJ will have a report on the winner of the Queen contest and the Jr. Queen contest in which 11 girls are participating.
