Lee County, IA, September 23, 2016 – Lee County EDG announces the appointment of Joe Steil as their new CEO. He will assume the responsibilities on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 and will succeed Steve Bisenius who will continue to work with Lee County EDG on a consulting basis. Steil has been a part of Lee County EDG since 2011, serving as the board’s Vice Chair and served as Co-Chair for Lee County 2018 capital campaign.
“I remain to be highly engaged in Lee County EDG activities, and am looking forward to increasing that leadership role by working with its’ talented board and staff,” said Steil, “combining my experience and skill-set to further the industrial growth of Lee County and the momentum of workforce development initiatives targeted by Lee County EDG’s stakeholders.”
Steil joins the Lee County EDG staff after being the President/CEO of KSB Bank/Insurance for 12 years, which has locations in Lee and Des Moines Counties. He holds both a BA degree and a Graduate degree in banking. Joe has been involved in leadership with multiple economic development initiatives in various cities and states throughout his career.
He continues to be very active in the community serving in a wide variety of organizations that emphasize bettering the Lee County area including groups such as: Keokuk Economic Development Corporation, Southeast Iowa Regional Riverboat Commission, Keokuk Affiliates, Southeast Iowa Regional Planning Commission and Rotary.
