Larry Thomas “Tom” Neuendorf, 76, of Donnellson, Iowa passed away at 4:10 p.m. Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa
Born November 9, 1938 at home in Croton, Iowa the son of William John “Mutt” and Cordia Alberta (Worrell) Neuendorf. On August 25, 1966 he married Linda Carroll Eaves at the First Christian Church in Fort Madison, Iowa. She preceded him death on March 26, 2015.
Survivors include his two daughters; Lisa (Tom) Gendron of Donnellson, Iowa and Laura (Brian) Sarver of Oskaloosa, Iowa, nine grandchildren; Tabitha, Tyler, Tessa and T.J. Gendron, Tyce, Dawson, Reece, Chloe and Gentrie Sarver, sister-in-law; Vera Mae Neuendorf of Montrose, five brothers-in-law; Jack (Kay) Eaves of Fort Madison, Iowa, Richard (Becky) Eaves of Fort Madison, Iowa, Guy Eaves of Elvaston, Illinois, Lester Eaves of Niota, Illinois and Jerry (Nancy) Eaves of Memphis, Missouri, sister-in-law Imojean (Don) Hodges of Fort Madison, Iowa and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Linda, parents, one granddaughter; Taylor, two brothers; Hilbert and Jack, one infant brother; Paul and one sister-in-law Jean Neuendorf.
Tom attended Primrose Elementary School and graduated from Farmington High School. He attended Iowa State University where he played baseball and also attended Iowa Wesleyn College. Tom farmed, worked for Fruehauf, General Electric, was a mail carrier and a security guard at Iowa Wesleyn College and Armour Dial. He attended Sharon Presbyterian Church and Donnellson Methodist Church and was a member of the Farm Bureau. Tom enjoyed sports, golfing, gardening and watching his grandchildren play sports.
Friends may call after 12:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. that evening.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the Sharon Presbyterian Church in rural Farmington with Pastor Mary Ann Welch and Pastor Doug Smiley officiating.
Burial will be in the Sharon Cemetery in rural Farmington with a flag presentation by the Donnellson American Legion Post #474.
A memorial has been established in his memory.
