SEPTEMBER 1ST IS THE UPCOMING DEADLINE, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HAVE YOUR VETERANS NAME ON THE HENRY COUNTY VETERAN’S MEMORIAL LOCATED ON THE HENRY COUNTY COURTHOUSE LAWN, IN ORDER TO BE INCLUDED THIS YEAR.
NAMES OF DECEASED VETERAN’S MAY BE ENGRAVED ON THE MONUMENT IF THEY MEET JUST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
1) THEY WERE BORN IN HENRY COUNTY.
2) THEY ENTERED MILITARY SERVICE FROM HENRY COUNTY, or
3) THEY HAVE LIVED IN HENRY COUNTY FOR AT LEAST 10 YEARS.
• A COPY OF THE VETERAN’S HONORABLE DISCHARGE PAPERS SHOULD ACCOMPANY THE REQUEST.
Anyone interested in applying for the monument, may contact your local funeral director, and they will be happy to assist you with the application process. Again, the deadline for the engraving to be included in the November Veteran’s Day observance, is Tuesday, September 1st.
