She received her education throughout the United States as she traveled with her family from military base to military base. On November 15, 1945, she married Clarence Raymond Sutter in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on August 20, 1998.
“Jo” was a devoted wife and homemaker. She worked as a medical assistant for a number of physicians. Returning to Iowa, the Sutters also served churches in Burlington and Mt. Pleasant. Jo was active in all of the programs of the church, including teaching Sunday school, Bible School and directing church plays. She was a member of the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church.
While busy raising a family, Jo found time to be a den mother and followed all of her children’s activities. She liked to camp and enjoyed all family outings. Jo often did a lot of sewing, made stuffed animals and nearly 100 quilts. She was a member of the South Center Club, was an original member of the Rhythm Rockers, and loved to travel.
