– A longtime education advocate has officially entered the race for one of the two At-Large seats on the Mount Pleasant Community School board.
Jennifer L. Crull will be running on September 8 for an At-Large position on the Mount Pleasant Community School Board.
Crull worked as Director of the Mount Pleasant Center and in Adult Basic Education for 10 years for Southeastern Community College, and currently works for Public Interest Institute headquartered on the Iowa Wesleyan Campus. She also teaches as an adjunct for Iowa Wesleyan College. She has served numerous nonprofit organizations over the past 15 years.
Crull’s plan to address the district’s challenges includes:
• Building relationships through honest and transparent communications.
• Seeking the input of our parents, teachers and residents. The district is in a state of massive change and we need to allow all stakeholders the opportunity to share ideas and concerns as this district moves forward.
• Providing transparency to the school board and the district concerning financials and curriculum.
Crull graduated from the University of Iowa, where she obtained a BA in Mathematics and an MA in Business and is a graduate of the Mount Pleasant Community School District. She is married with two girls ages 7 and 11 in the school district.
