Janet Ann McGregor

Janet Ann McGregor, 63, of West Point, Iowa passed away at 12:08 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.

 

Born November 16, 1952 in Fort Madison, Iowa the twin daughter of Irvin Leo and Marjorie D. (Peitz) Meierotto. On October 20, 1973 she married Marvin R. McGregor in West Point, Iowa.

 

Survivors include her husband; Marvin of West Point, mother; Marjorie of West Point, one brother; Ron (Sharon) Meierotto of rural Donnellson, three sisters; Linda (Greg) Wilbert of rural Fort Madison, her twin Jane (Gary) Michael of Wayland, and Mary Lu (Mike) Menke of rural Donnellson, several in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her three children in infancy; Tristin Nicholis, Austin Ray and Kelsie Ann, her father; Irvin and one sister; Juanita Pidgeon.

 

Janet was a graduate of Fort Madison Public High School. She worked at Heatilator Fireplaces in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa for many years. Along with her husband, she owned and operated “The Perfect Finish” in West Point for over twenty five years. Janet owned numerous copyrights on craft patterns. She enjoyed photography and most of all harassing her husband Marvin relentlessly. Janet will always be known for her many creative talents, her inventive mind, constantly working hard and for the many, many hours she quietly helped others.

 

Friends may call and meet with the family from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the Schmitz Funeral Home in West Point, Iowa.

 

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the Schmitz Funeral Home in West Point, Iowa with Father Dennis Hoffman officiating.

 

Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in West Point.

 

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her memory.
