The Iowa Soybean Association (ISA) is offering ten $1,500 scholarships to high school seniors planning to pursue agricultural studies at an Iowa college. Applications are due by March 1 and winners will be announced April 15.

Scholarships will be awarded to one student in each of Iowa’s nine crop districts and, from those recipients, one student will be selected to receive an additional $1,500.

“We’re proud to offer these scholarships to support students who want to pursue opportunities in agriculture,” said ISA President Tom Oswald of Cleghorn. “It’s important to recognize and enable students who are dedicated to furthering the future of our industry, whether that is through research, technology or joining the family farm after college.”

Many past ISA Ag Scholarship Program recipients work in a variety of ag-related fields, ranging from sales to research to association careers.

Scholarship applications are available at and request the following items:

A 650-word essay addressing “What role would you like to be playing in agriculture and/or the soybean industry in the five years following graduation?”
Three letters of recommendation
Submission of four copies of each document

Additional details also have been provided to Iowa high school guidance counselors. Contact Mary Whitcomb at or 515-334-1027 with additional questions.
