Invitational Results

Mt. Pleasant hosted the 17th Annual Marching Band Invitational Saturday night. Here are the judging results….

Davenport Central took top honors in Class 4A, followed by Waterloo West, Bettendorf, Muscatine and Ottumwa. Davenport Central also received caption awards for best drum line and drum major and earned the Sweepstakes Award for the highest combined scores from the Mt. Pleasant and Ft. Madison contests. Other caption awards went to Muscatine for best color guard and Waterloo West for best horn line.

In 3A, Marion placed first, followed by Washington, Keokuk, Ft. Madison, West Liberty and West Delaware. For caption awards, Marion received honors for best drum major, drum line and horn line while Keokuk had best color guard.

In 1A/2A, Wilton came in first, followed by Central Lee, Mediapolis, West Burlington and Cardinal. Caption awards went to Central Lee for best color guard and drum line, while West Burlington had the best drum major and Mediapolis best horn line.

The Lennis Moore Fan Appreciation Award, named for long-time invitational PA announcer Lennis Moore, was won by Washington, who had the most fans in attendance.
