ILLINOIS MAN INJURED IN FALL AT WILDCAT DEN STATE PARK

MUSCATINE – An Illinois man was injured late Saturday evening after a fall from a cliff at Wildcat Den State Park near Muscatine.

Aaron S. Plumb, 26, of Geneseo, Ill., fell approximately 35 feet from an area known as “the Devil’s Punch Bowl” at Wildcat Den State Park shortly before midnight on Saturday.

Plumb was taken to the campground of the park where he was transported by helicopter to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. He was being treated for back trauma as well as injuries to a hand and fingers.

The incident remains under investigation by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and the Muscatine County Sheriff’s Department.
