Henry County SupervisorWritten by Theresa Rose on June 2, 2015
The Mt. Pleasant Area Development Commission recently sold a spec building in the Industrial Park. Henry County was a partner in financing the construction of the building. And in continuing to finance the structure while it sat empty. Now that it’s sold, the county is entitled to a share of the proceeds. Travis Krause of the Development Commission spoke with the supervisors this morning and asked if the board would considering rolling those proceeds back into another yet to be determined project. The supervisors anticipate this is the direction they will go. Final dollars won’t be available until August so the board requested Krause come back with that amount and a resolution. Krause also hopes to have by that time some ideas for a new development project.
In other business from the County Board of Supervisors meeting this morning….the board approved a one lot subdivision for Robert and Vickie Achen. The lot is for construction of a turkey confinement.
Salem residents can look forward to a meeting with the Henry County engineer in the near future. The community meeting will be held to share information about the upcoming county paving project that will include an intersection and a segment of street in the city limits. The preconstruction meeting is Wednesday morning. The community meeting will be schedule after that. Information will include the contractor’s schedule. Shipley Contracting will be doing the work.
