Henry County Fair Queen now taking applicants

Entries are currently being accepted for this year’s Henry County Fair Queen contest.
Contestants must be at least 16 years of age and not more than 21 years of age on Aug. 10, 2017, reside in Henry County, and be active in at least one service organization. Contestants do not have to be a member of a 4-H of FFA Club.
All contestants are required to participate in a personal interview with the judges and in the local pageant on July 13. Contestants will be judged on personality, attitude, overall appearance in casual and formal dress, leadership and citizenship, and poise. Contestants will also be asked to help at various fair events.
Participants receive interview training, public speaking and networking skills, a volunteer opportunity and much more.
The crowned queen will receive prizes, a crown and sash, and will represent Henry County at the Iowa State Fair, as well as in area parades and any other designated events.
