HCHC TRUSTEES MEETINGWritten by John Kuhens on September 20, 2016
The Henry County Health Center Board of Trustees meeting opened with a public hearing at noon Tuesday to hear any comments about the plans, specifications, form of contract and estimated cost for the replacement of the roof and flashing on the Park Place Facility. There were no written or verbal comments so the hearing was closed. There was only one bid submitted for the project, that was from Robison Construction of Cedar Rapids for a cost of $93,390.80 for the base contract, an additional $5,800 would cover the cost of flashing and any additional sheeting replacement would cost $49.16 per piece. The trustees voted to approve that bid with the stipulation that the company provide a performance-payment bond and that the business has some good references about their work. C.E.O. Robb Gardner reported on the progress of the Rehab and Administrative Parking lot construction project, he informed the Trustees that for the next couple of weeks tearing up the old parking surface will take place and then in October the paving will begin. The rest of the meeting was spent reviewing the fiscal year 2016 audit report, along with the provider satisfaction and associate engagement survey results. After discussing the operational goals for the fiscal year 2017, the board entered into executive session to discuss strategic proprietary information.
