HCHC Board MeetingWritten by Theresa Rose on September 16, 2015
“More of what matters….Just ask our patients.” That is the theme of the new marketing campaign for the Henry County Health Center. The program was presented to the hospital board of trustees at their regular meeting Tuesday by Shelley Doak of the Public Information department. She explained the areas where marketing dollars are spent and how they try to reach a wide demographic. As the theme implies satisfied HCHC patients will be giving testimonials about the care they received. The hospital spends just over $19,000 a month in various medias reaching out to potential patients.
The board was informed by CEO Robb Gardner they will be provided with tablets to use for board purposes. They should receive their board meeting packages by e-mail next month. Jodi Geerts the CNO reported on emergency services provided for the Old Threshers Reunion. Most of the people cared for had heat related issues but nothing serious. She did report that a large number of helicopter transfers by Air Care have taken place lately, as more seriously ill patients have arrived at the emergency room. Trustee Jan Towne did the monthly hospital inspection and voiced some concerns about some areas around the campus that need some attention. CFO Dave Muhs reported that volume was down again in August and that the new budget should be presented at the October meeting.
