Donald Eugene “Gene” Crowe, 77, of Keosauqua, formerly of rural Milton died at 9:40 P.M. Wednesday September 16, 2015, at Keosauqua Health Care Center (formerly Good Samaritan Center) where he had resided since 2009. He was born June 23, 1938, at Taylorville, IL to Donald T. and Dorothy Moore Crowe and moved as a youth with his family to the farm south of Lebanon. Gene graduated from Keosauqua High School where he was active in Future Farmers of America. He spent his active life farming with his father, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Surviving are a sister, Doris Overstreet of Galesburg, IL, a niece, Rita Tedrow of Keosauqua, three nephews, Kevin Crowe of Galesburg, IL, Tony Crowe of Monmouth, IL and Tom Hennenfent of East Moline, IL, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marjorie Sayre.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday September 23, 2015, at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Visitation with family present will be 9:30-10:30 A.M. Wednesday prior to the service. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Cantril. Memorials to the cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 4202 Orchard Drive, Galesburg, IL 61401. Pedrick Funeral Home of Keosauqua is in charge of arrangements.
