“Following the Ninth”

Southeast Iowans will soon have an opportunity to watch an inspirational movie while supporting one of the area’s most important cultural organizations. The Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra will sponsor a showing of the documentary “Following the Ninth : In the Footsteps of Beethoven’s Final Symphony” on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 2:30 pm at Main Street Cinemas in Mt. Pleasant, IA.
“Following the Ninth” explores the effects of Beethoven’s final symphony on people who are faced with great adversity around the world. In times of conflict this piece of music has inspired tenancity and solidarity in its listeners. It has sparked hope in oppressed people in places such as Tiananmen Square and prisons in South America. The documentary has beautiful photography and delivers a powerful, uplifting message.

Single admission is $15, Double admission is $25. Groups of 6 or more are $10 per person. Students are free but must call to make a reservation. The concession stand will be open.
