– The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center is pleased to announce the recent addition of Judy Miller to its Board of Directors. Miller, from Mt. Pleasant, brings an accomplished career of non-profit experience to the Board. Miller spent more than 30 years in the non-profit sector, most recently as the Director of Education for Educational Leadership in Houston, Texas.
Miller’s impact on the Board of Directors has been immediately realized with the organizations expansion of its efforts to introduce more youth to the benefits of the arts.
“We are very excited to have Judy serving on our Board of Directors,” said Rustin Lippincott, executive director of the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center. “With more than 50% of our patrons coming from outside Jefferson County, having an experienced non-profit practitioner who understands what it takes to impact seniors, families and children and how to increase philanthropic efforts is critical to the growth of the Center.”
Miller and her husband Jim, own the Brown Bear’s Basket Antique Mall in Mt. Pleasant.
“I want to contribute in as many ways as possible to expand the awareness and growth of the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center. I see it as an integral driver of our regional economy.” said Miller. “I am honored to assist in its mission to enhance the quality of life for residents in Southeast Iowa. The richness and the cultural value the facility and its programming offers people of southeast Iowa is truly something we all can be proud of and utilize. We are very fortunate to have this venue just a short drive from home.”
Miller will serve a three year term on the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center Board of Directors. The Board of Directors supports the mission and work of the Center and provides mission-based leadership and strategic governance. Miller is part of the Donor/ Sponsors Development Committee, which is responsible for securing annual gifts, memberships and sponsorships.
The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center is a private, 501 c 3 non-profit corporation governed by the Board of Directors and managed by Rustin Lippincott, Executive Director. Its mission is to enhance the quality of life and contribute to the economic vitality of Southeast Iowa through education, entertainment, events, and the performing arts.
