Deadline extended for “We Do Windows” projects

Written by Theresa Rose on July 6, 2016

Lisa Oetken, Main Street Director and chair of the “We Do Windows” project, announced today that people could still enter art work- visual, textile or culinary- for the July 31 Union Block fundraiser.  Registrations will now be accepted until July 22.

She further explained that “We Do Windows” will be an arts celebration beginning July 29 held over three days culminating in an auction of the submitted entries on July 31.  The Union Block’s trefoil windows so prominently featured in the building’s architecture are what inspired the “windows” theme.  The “windows” can be any type of window- an actual window or a fantasy window.

Funds from the July 31 auction will be used to purchase and install museum quality, full view storm windows over the trefoil windows.  The storm windows will help to preserve the restored trefoil windows and maintain temperature control in the building.
