Day One Results from the Secretary’s State Fair Presidential Straw Poll

DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate is conducting a Presidential Straw Poll throughout the Iowa State Fair. Fairgoers can participate in the poll via iPads at the Secretary of State’s booth inside the Varied Industries Building at the State Fairgrounds.
Below are the results from the first day of polling:

Throughout the State Fair, which runs from August 13-23, real time results are available on the Iowa Secretary of State’s website, www.sos.iowa.gov/statefairpoll.

“We hope the Straw Poll will draw people to our booth, where Iowans can also register to vote,” Secretary Paul Pate said. “Increasing voter participation is one of the primary functions of my office. I want all eligible Iowans to fulfill their civic duty and exercise their right to vote.”
