Fairfield Arts & Convention Center hosts a night of music from legendary artist Prince
Fairfield, Iowa – The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center is hosting a Purple Rain Dance Party featuring the music of the legendary artist Prince on Friday, May 27 from 7:00 – 9:30 p.m. Wear purple and dance the night away to Prince songs like “Purple Rain,” “Raspberry Beret,” “Little Red Corvette,” “1999,” and more!
The Purple Rain Dance Party will include more than just dancing. Prince’s music videos will be playing on the big screen and the Center will be decked out in purple. There will be a full bar available for purchase featuring a signature Purple Rain Cocktail. Pictures, posters, CDs, and other fun Prince souvenirs will be given away throughout the night. Prince karaoke will begin at 9:00 p.m. for those who want to show off their best Prince impersonation. The night wouldn’t be complete without a slice of raspberry pie and a chance to take a selfie with a little red corvette. Yes, there will be an actual red corvette inside the Center!

The idea to host a Purple Rain Dance Party originated from Fairfield Arts & Convention Center board member Connie Boyer in an effort to raise money for computer upgrades needed at the Center. “I was, and still am, in love with Prince,” says Connie Boyer. “I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off Memorial Day weekend and raise some money for our Center than celebrating The Prince of Funk.”
Tickets for the Purple Rain Dance Party are $10 and available at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center ticket office, 641-472-2787, online,, or at the door. All proceeds will go towards computer upgrades for the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center.
