Mount Pleasant, Iowa: March 13, 2018 – On Saturday, March 24th at Noon, Jake McVey will hold a benefit concert in Ruble Arena as part of Iowa Wesleyan’s Retro Radiothon. The concert is open to the public with a free will donation at the door.  McVey, a native of Southeast Iowa, was happy to help support Iowa Wesleyan as he recognizes the impact the university makes to the region.  While McVey has come a long way in his professional career, he hasn’t forgotten where he came from.

“We are immensely grateful to Jake McVey for his support of Iowa Wesleyan by providing this benefit concert and we invite everyone to come out to hear this talented and dedicated musician while also supporting your University.” said Meg Richtman Vice President for Strategic Initiatives for Iowa Wesleyan University.

In addition to the concert, there will be numerous events and benefit challenges planned throughout the Retro Radiothon.  A launch event to kick off the 40-hour radiothon will begin at 6:30 pm on Friday, March 23. On Saturday, March 24 there will be a yoga class; a brunch to recognize the dedicated current and former faculty of Iowa Wesleyan; cultural performances by our students with candy tasting from the nearly 29 countries our students represent; The Tiger Games and a Dance-a-Thon. “There will be something for the whole family on campus throughout the weekend.  We hope the community joins us as this event is vital to the success of Iowa Wesleyan University and Southeast Iowa,” said Meg Richtman, “If you are unable to attend our numerous events on campus, we invite you to join the Retro Radiothon by making your gift online, by text or by phone.”
