The Edd King Memorial Fountain in Mt. Pleasant’s Central Park will be sent to Alabama for restoration. Wednesday night the City Council authorized Mayor Steve Brimhall to sign a contract with Robinson Iron Company for the work to be done at their location in Alexander City. The fountain will have to be dis-assembled and trucked to Robinson Iron. This will take place in November and the work is expected to take all winter. The cost for the refurbishing is $49,000. There will be additional costs when the fountain is taken down and then re-assembled. Money for the project will come from the Viola King Estate.
