MOUNT PLEASANT— Last week, the Mount Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance, received word that Contitech USA, Inc. will expand operations in Mount Pleasant, IA.

“Obviously, this is wonderful news for the City of Mount Pleasant. Contitech USA is a good community citizen and we are so pleased they have selected Mount Pleasant for their next company expansion”, said Mayor Steve Brimhall.

The expansion will include a $12 million investment and will bring more than 40 new jobs to the Mount Pleasant location. The Mount Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance worked closely with the Iowa Economic Development Authority to assist with the expansion.

“Mount Pleasant and Henry County truly values the importance of manufacturing on our local economy” said Kristi Ray, Executive Vice President of the Mount Pleasant Area Development Commission.

Recently, Lomont Molding LLC also announced a $2.6 million expansion which is scheduled to begin immediately. These two announcements follow an exciting $9 million expansion scheduled to be completed later this fall at Hearth & Home Technologies. Ray attributed these announcements to a strong Iowa work ethic and a concerted effort to support company expansions. She stated, “These three expansions were all possible because Mount Pleasant is a very easy place to do business.”

The Mount Pleasant Area Development Commission was the sponsoring organization for Contitech USA Inc’s request for High Quality Jobs assistance offered by the State of Iowa. The High-Quality Jobs (HQJ) program provides qualifying businesses assistance to off-set some of the costs incurred to locate, expand or modernize an Iowa facility.

The Mount Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance exists to improve the quality of life for Henry County residents through economic growth. The Mount Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance includes the Mount Pleasant Area Development Commission, the Mount Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Mount Pleasant and Henry County Tourism.
