Mt. Pleasant City Council met Wednesday night in regular session The council approved a Special Class C Liquor License for Kirk Restaurant Services, the owners of Tasos Steakhouse opening soon at 901 W. Washington Street.
The City Council received a request from Kenneth Reschly to vacate an alley near 504 S. Jackson St. The request will be sent to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
The first reading of a proposed ordinance establishing no parking on two new streets, Savannah and Prairie, was approved. The second readings on two other proposed ordinances establishing no parking were also approved…one for the South side of Clay between Jackson and White and the other for certain locations at the intersections of Clay and Jefferson and Clay and Main.
May 27th at 5:30 pm is the date and time set for a public hearing on the proposed runway lighting improvements at the airport. The bid letting is at 2 pm that day.
May 27 at 5:30 pm is also the time set for another public hearing. The hearing is for a proposed amendment to this fiscal year’s budget.
The council also approved the third reading and passed an ordinance rezoning the Arbor Village South property from Planned Residential Development to Multiple Family Dwelling district.
