At approximately 8:45AM on September 6th, 2016 a Henry County Deputy Sheriff attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling at excessive speeds on Highway 34 near Penn Avenue. The vehicle did not stop upon being approached by the deputy. The vehicle finally stopped on Highway 34, just into Des Moines County. As a result, the driver, Timothy Bush, 45, of Chicago was charged with aggravated misdemeanor eluding, careless driving, and speeding 30 MPH over the posted speed limit. Bush will be charged out of Cook County, Illinois for a parole violation as well. Bush is being held on Henry County charges on a $2600 bond. The Henry County Sheriff Office was assisted by the New London Police Department, Iowa DNR, and Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office.
