December 31  New Year's Eve

Henry County Public Health is open today but will be closed January 1.

All the Des Moines County Regional Waste Commission departments including the regional landfill, the HazChem Center and the area recyclers facility will close today at 3 pm.

Area teens in grades 6 to 12 are invited to "Light Up The Night" from 8:30 pm to 12:15 am at the E3 Center on East Washington Street in Mount Pleasant.  Youth For Christ and several area churches are teaming up to host a free New Year's Eve event with blacklight dodgeball, music and guest speaker Leonard Wester.

This is the last night to enjoy this year's Mount Pleasant Festival of Lights thru the Old Threshers Campground open at 5:30 pm.

Everyone is invited to the Roberts Memorial Building in Keosauqua for gospel music and family fellowship at 5 pm.  Soups, drinks, and table service will be provided.  There will also be door prizes.  No carry-in food, no admission and social distancing is recommended.
