The Mt. Pleasant Municipal Utilities would like to inform our customers of a water shut-off from 3:30 p.m. to approximately 7:30 p.m. The Utilities will be replacing a water valve at the intersection of Monroe St. and Locust St. and abandoning the old water main on Monroe Street in the downtown area. The following locations will be without water:
• E. Monroe St. from Adams St. to Cherry St.
• Adams St. from Washington St. to Taft St.
• Hamlin St. from Monroe St. to Madison St.
• Walnut St. from Washington St. to Henry St.
Due to the Utilities water shut-off, the Mount Pleasant City Hall will close at 3:30 pm today.
The East Lake Park entrance on Iris Road in Mount Pleasant is closed thru Friday due to construction.
Congressman Dave Loebsack's representative will be at the Ft. Madison City Hall from 10 am to 12 pm and at the Keokuk Public Library from 1 to 2 pm.
There is a blood drive at the Mount Pleasant High School from 3:15 to 6:15 pm in the Commons. The public is welcome to give.
Also, at the Mount Pleasant High School, there is an opportunity to get free help with filling out the Free Application For Student Aid (FASFA) from 4 to 7:30 pm in the Media Center. Students, please bring your laptop.
Come to downtown Mt. Pleasant for the Saving of the Green Beer Walk from 5 to 7 pm.
