As of this morning (Sunday) the Mt. Pleasant Municipal Utilities wants to inform customers and the general public that Well #6 is down for emergency repairs. They encourage customers to conserve water until Well #6 is back in service. No completion time has been announced. For questions please call 319-385-2121 anytime.
March is Youth Art Month. The opening of the annual exhibit of Mt. Pleasant students' artwork at the Henry County Court House will be held from 1 to 3 pm. The public is invited. The work will be on display thru the month and can be seen Monday thru Friday during regular court house business hours after the Sunday opening.
The Players Workshop presents "The Radiant" a docu-drama about the life of widowed Marie Curie who won 2 Nobel Prizes and revolutionized the world of science. The Southeast Iowa Band for an afternoon of entertaining band music. The band will presents their spring concert at 3 pm in the Chapel Auditorium on the Iowa Wesleyan University campus. The band is comprised of students and faculty of IW as well as community members from throughout the region. The band is directed by Robert McConnell and Dr. Michael Knight, Director of Bands at IW. Admission is free.
Players Workshop is holding open auditions for their spring production "A Fox on the Fairway" today and tomorrow at 7 pm at the Workshop, located at 1431 Grove Street in Burlington. The play follows a golf tournament between two rival country clubs, who will try anything to win. Parts are available for three men and three women, ranging in age from mid-twenties to fiftyish. The Three Rivers Tractors Club will have over 50 antique tractors at Westland Mall this weekend. You can find the display at the center of the mall, during normal business hours. Tractors from members all around southeast Iowa will be displayed.
