Representative Joe Mitchell and Senator Rich Taylor will be available at the February Legislative Breakfast from 8:30 to 10 at the Iowa Wesleyan University Chadwick Library.
The Mount Pleasant High School Junior class is doing another prom fundraiser. The students will be at PepStop from noon until 4, pumping gas, cleaning windshields, etc. for a free will donation.
THE BIRMINGHAM LIONS CLUB WILL HOST THE ANNUAL WINTER SOUP SUPPER STARTING AT 5PM AT THE BIRMINGHAM LIONS CLUB BUILDING. HOME MADE SOUPS RELISH TRAY AND DESERTS AND BEVERAGE FOR ONLY $5.OO. IF WEATHER PERMITS THERE WILL BE SOME MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT.
Mt. Pleasant Panther Trap Team 3rd annual Banquet Fundraiser starts with social hour at 5:30 pm at Airport Road Vineyard. Dinner starts at 7. The meal is a meat with two sides, roll and dessert. There will be a silent auction, live auction and raffles. 100% of the proceeds go towards the Trap Team. To purchase tickets, call Jim Smith at 931-5206.
The Soul Expressions competition dance group will hold a spaghetti supper fundraiser from 5:30 to 8 pm at the Mt. Pleasant Veterans Club. For a free will donation there will be spaghetti, lettuce salad and cottage cheese. The funds raised will help cover the group's competition fees.
The Players Workshop presents "The Radiant" a docu-drama about the life of widowed Marie Curie who won 2 Nobel Prizes and revolutionized the world of science. Performances run Friday through Sunday February 21st through the 23rd and Thursday through Sunday February 27th through March 1st at the Workshop located at 1431 Grove Street in Burlington. New London VFW hosts a catfish and chicken dinner from 5 to 7:30 pm. Catfish is $9.50, chicken is $7and all white chicken are $8. Dinner includes a roll and choice of 2 of the 3: french fries, baked beans and coleslaw. Karaoke will immediately follow.
