New London is not having school today.
The Vintage Raven Kitten Haven is having a kitten adoption bonanza today from 9 am to 5 pm at the Vintage Raven store in uptown Mount Pleasant. Come meet all of the cats that they have up for adoption.
The First Presbyterian Church at 902 S. Walnut St in Mt. Pleasant is having a Rummage and Bake Sale today from noon to 6 pm. All items are 50 cents, unless otherwise marked.
The WMU Homecoming Powder puff volleyball will be held at 2:15 before the pep assembly. The parade was moved to Wednesday and volleyball was changed to tonite.
The 4th annual Chili Cook Off will start at 5 PM at the Mapleleaf Athletic Complex in conjunction with the Mt. Pleasant High School football games with Solon. Votes will be taken for Best Soup and Best Presentation. A free will donation will be accepted and any funds raised will be used to support the Middle School Career and Technical coursework.
The Mt. Pleasant Veterans Hall presents The Troubadors with Stan Hill and Friends tonight! Come enjoy a fish, chicken, or shrimp dinner serving from 5:30 to 8 pm. Sit back and enjoy the music starting around 7. The public is welcome!
The SCC Keokuk Campus Drama Club will host its Annual Zombie Walk tonight. Registration is free and starts at 5 p.m. The contest begins at 6 p.m. with the walk to follow at Estes Park on Fifth and Main Street in Keokuk.
Participants will walk from the south side of Main from Fifth to Eighth Street, then cross to return to Estes Park via the north side of Main.
The Midwest Haunted Rails starts tonight! They will be open from 6 to 10 pm. Tickets are $12 per person and get you unlimited rides on the Ghost Train, Ghostly Trolley, Haunted Carousel, and other activities! (games, food, and Thrashers House of Terror not included). Ages four and under get in free.
Thrashers House of Terror will be open tonight from 6 pm to midnight. Tickets are $10 per person or $15 for the fast pass. Children 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
The Annual Van Buren County Scenic Drive Festival is taking place this weekend. Today thru Sunday take the drive thru the Villages of Van Buren and enjoy the activities each village has to offer.
