There will be a free-will hot breakfast from 7 to 9 am in the Opera House in Bonaparte.
The Crooked Creek Days continue today and tomorrow. Events today include the 7 am Pancake Breakfast at the Presbyterian Church, the 7:30 am Crooked Creek 5k Fun Run, the 10 am Crooked Creek Day Parade, 11 am Youth Activities, the 5 pm Bill Riley Talent Show, a 5 pm dinner served by the Henry County Cattleman's Association, the 6:30 pm Large Prizes Drawings, a 7 pm Inflatable Obstacle Course Race, the 7:30 Adult Bags Tournament, the 8 pm Outdoor Family Movie, and the 9 pm Street Dance.
The Cantril Dayz continue today. From 10 am to 9 pm there will be Co-Ed Softball, Kids Games, Kiddie Tractor Pull, and Silver Mine. There will be a Parade and Fireworks at dusk.
The Dover Museum is open every Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 pm through October. There is no charge, but donations are welcome. The museum is air conditioned and handicap accessible.
There will be a car show in Trenton today from 4 to 8 pm. There will also be a movie for the kids and a bounce house.
There will be a fundraiser for Emma Harvey at the Charleston Board of Trade. The chicken fry starts at 4 pm and the auction at 6 pm. Emma is going thru intensive therapy to regain full motor skills after a seizure sent her into cardiac arrest back in May.
16th Annual Friends of NRA banquet 5:30 pm Social hour, 7 pm ribeye dinner. Auction to follow. Open to the Public. Dinner tickets $30. Limited # at door.
The Lee County Fair presents 'Night of Mayhem' at the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson! The show starts at 6 pm. There will be kids power wheels, lawnmower races, rollover, figure 8 - women, fwd, compact wire, rwd wire, bonestock, full size weld, and full size trucks! The Theater Museum of Old Threshers presents their Summer Theater show 'Three in a Bed' by Neil and Caroline Schaffner today at 7:30 pm. Tickets are available at the Midwest Old Threshers office, Brown's shoe fit, and the theater museum on the day of the performance. Tickets are $10, kids 11 and under are $5.
