The Henry County Fair runs through the 22nd. Events today include the 9 am Beef Show in the Livestock Arena, the 11:30 am Little Prince and Princess Contest under the Wright Pavilion, Kid's activities under the Wright Pavilion from 12 to 4 pm, the Poultry Show in the Rabbit/Poultry Barn at 3 pm, the Demolition Derby at the grandstand at 7:30 pm with fireworks after, and the Beer Garden/The Boys under the Wright Pavilion from 9 to 11 pm. The Dover Museum is open every Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 pm through October. There is no charge, but donations are welcome. The museum is air conditioned and handicap accessible.
There will be a benefit for Sherilyn Alden and Ed Kolkman today at Deerwood Golf Course at 4 pm. The funds raised by this event will help pay for medical and other expenses for the duo.
The Birmingham Lions are having a Homemade Ice Cream Supper tonight from 5 to 7 pm at 110 Cross St in Birmingham. Serving 6 flavors of homemade ice cream, ham sandwiches, various desserts, and beverages for a free will offering. They will also have live entertainment.
Downtown Burlington’s major summer event, A Very Vintage Market, takes place in the 200 – 700 blocks of Jefferson on Saturday, July 20 from 9 AM to 4 PM. Over 100 vendors will be on hand with antiques, vintage-inspired décor, repurposed items, architectural salvage, and more. The event, presented by Downtown Partners and made possible by Titan Broadcasting and Pinned It Creations, includes a food court in the 200 block of N. Third. There is no admission fee.
