KILJ will be participating with the National Weather Service's Tornado Warning. It will happen on both our AM and FM stations around 10:10 am. Remember, this is just a test for our equipment as we get ready for tornado season. This is a good time for you to create a safety plan for what you would do in the event of a tornado or severe weather at your work and home.
The community meal at the Fellowship Cup is hosted by the First Presbyterian church of Mt. Pleasant. They will serve: chicken spaghetti casserole, green beans, a tossed salad and dessert.
The Friends of the Harlan Lincoln House invite you to a special evening Brown Bag Lecture presentation in the Social Hall at Iowa Wesleyan University. The Social Hall will open at 5 pm to view selections from Professor Emeritus of History and Political Science at the Des Moines Area Community College and Baseball Historian John Liepa's (leea-puh) extensive collection of baseball cards and memorabilia featuring Iowa's 221 Major Leaguers and seven Hall of Famers. At 6 pm Professor Liepa will discuss the myths regarding the invention of baseball as well as the origins and evolution of the early game in the United States. This event is free and open to the public.
The Wapello Iowa VFW post 5166 is holding a question and answer night on dependent and survivor benefits. The Louisa County Veterans service officer and VFW state service officer will be on hand to answer your questions at the Briggs Center 300 water streets at 6:30 pm.
