Managing Risk in Cow-Calf Operations hosted by the Henry County Cattlemen from 10 am to 1:15 pm in Manning Hall at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 607 S. Jackson Street, Mt. Pleasant.
The 26th Annual African American Celebration will be hosted by Second Baptist Ministries beginning at noon with the meal featuring dishes like gumbo, collard greens, corn bread and sweet potato pie. The meal will be followed by the program with music by the Tinders, Charism, a contemporary gospel group as well as other musical selections. Paul Dennison is the guest speaker.
The Lockridge Fire and Rescue Soup Supper and Auction will be held at the school in Lockridge from 4:30 to 7 pm, with the auction at 6 pm. The soup supper is free will donation, and the raffle is $5 per ticket, or 6 for $20. There will be a flag presentation by the Southeast Iowa Regional Fire Honor Guard.
The Salem Fire and Rescue Spaghetti Supper and Auction will be held at the Salem Community Center from 5 to 7 pm, with the auction starting at 6 pm. The spaghetti supper is free will donation, and funds will go towards the purchase of a new tank and pump for their brush truck.If you would be interested in making a donation or donating towards the auction please contact Steve Nichting at 319-931-0451 or by getting a hold of any fire department member.
Relay For Life team No One Walks Alone is having a Sweet Sale for your Sweetie today from 8 am to 2 pm at Kramer's Gas Station in Salem. Buy some sweet treats for your sweetie and help a good cause. They will have baked goods, candy, and gifts for your special someone.
The Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra will present its 68th season Winter Masterworks Series concerts, Fantastique! today at 7:30 pm at the Bridge View Center in Ottumwa, tomorrow at 2 pm at the Capitol Theater in Burlington, and again tomorrow evening at 6:30 pm in the Iowa Wesleyan University Chapel Auditorium in Mt. The Sunday services at the Winfield First United Methodist Church have been cancelled for February 10. Members have the option to attend services at the Winfield Presbyterian Church.
