The 2018 St. Mary's Fall Festival continues at the Holy Trinity Gym in West Point. Masses at 8 am and 5:30 pm at St. Mary's. The auction resumes at 11:00 am. The auction will continue until all the items are sold. The ham dinner is served from 10:30am - 1:00pm. There will be Three $500 Cash Raffles, 50/50 Raffles and a Side by Side Raffle.
The Dover Museum in New London is open from 1-4 pm. No charge. Come in to see the special window displays and fire related exhibits in recognition of Fire Prevention Week.
Villages of Van Buren County, Iowa is hosting the countywide Scenic Drive Festival. Visitors are encouraged to follow the marked 'Scenic Drive' through Van Buren County and along the Historic Hills Scenic Byway to experience each of the historic Villages. The Henry County Engineers Office announces a road closure for a box culvert replacement beginning Monday, October 15th for about one month, weather permitting. The project is located on Benton Avenue, south of Merrimac Road.

Mt. Pleasant Community High School Choral Concert at 2 pm at the First United Methodist Church featuring the 9th grade choir, Concert Choir and Chamber Choir.
The Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church is hosting a community hayride and party at the parish hall from 4 to 6 pm rain or shine. There will be hot dogs, s'mores and games in addition to the hayrides. In case of rain the fun will be moved indoors.
