Amber Meyers and Jeremy Rourke, both from Burlington, were arrested and charged with Felony Conspiracy to Manufacture Meth over 5 grams and viloation of a no-contact order. Rourke is also charged with driving while barred, improper registration and there were multiple Des Moines County warrants for his arrest. The couple was arrested in Mt. Pleasant May 16 after a concerned citizen flagged down a sheriff’s deputy at 1700 E. Washington to report a possible domestic disturbance in a parking lot. Both subjects had protective orders on each other. Precursors for a one pot meth lab were found and Meyers tried to hide several meth lab items under a vehicle in the parking lot during the investigation. A search warrant was later executed at the couple’s Mt. Pleasant motel room. More meth lab items were found there.
