Bobbie Dow Seibert Jr. age 74, of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Albia, passed away on July 15, 2016, at his home in Las Vegas.
Bobbie was born June 28, 1942, to Bobbie Sr. and Anna Mae (Gilmore) Seibert in Des Moines. He graduated from Albia High School with the class of 1960, Centerville Community College and Northeast Missouri State Teachers College with a degree in Education. On December 26, 1964 Bobbie was united in marriage to Sylvia Closser in Huntsville, Missouri. To this union two children were born Heather and Shane. They later divorced.
Bobbie was a talented athlete. He participated in basketball, golf and track in high school and played basketball in college. Bobbie taught social studies at Moulton-Udell High School for a year before teaching for 29 years at New London High School, where he helped coach basketball and track. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Bobbie is survived by a daughter, Heather Duncan of Mt. Union, Iowa and a son, Shane Seibert of Las Vegas, Nevada; 8 grandchildren, Ryan, Tanner, Tyler, Brock, Rachel, Morgan, Marisa and Madison; 6 great grandchildren, Dually, Kaymie, Maghie, Brennen, Katalyn and Corbin; 2 sisters, Cheryl Dicks and Denise Seibert; a brother, Jack Sams. Bobbie is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bobbie Seibert Sr. mother, Anna Mae Shroyer; and a sister, Janice McNeal.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 23, 2016, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Pastor Brad Cranston officiating. Burial will follow services at Oak View Cemetery in Albia.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2016, at Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Bobbie’s family present from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m
