Monday afternoon a driver west of Mt. Pleasant reported she was stopped by a subject believed to be impersonating a law enforcement official. The driver said the incident occurred at about 2:15 pm near Big Creek Bridge on Old Hwy 34. She said she was pulled over by a black and white car similar to a Crown Vic with “Police” on the doors. It had blue and red flashing lights and a spotlight. The suspected impersonator confronted the driver about an expired registration. The registration was not expired. The suspect returned to his vehicle but followed the female driver tot he edge of Mt. Pleasant where she lost sight of him. He is described as white, about 6 ft 4 inches tall, thin build with light brown hair. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Henry County Sheriff’s office.
