Amy Alissa VanPelt, 43, of Orlando, Florida passed away July 8, 2016.
She was born July 20, 1972 in Fort Madison, Iowa.
Survivors include her mother; Susan Penrod Fields of Orlando, Florida, grandmother; Norma Heins of Donnellson, Iowa, two aunts; Mary (Jeff) Hoskins of Donnellson, Iowa and Bonnie (Ben) Dodson of Montrose, Iowa, four uncles; Mike (Ann) Penrod of Donnellson, Iowa, Fred Heins of Donnellson, Iowa, David Heins of Donnellson, Iowa and Marty VanPelt of Montrose, Iowa and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her cousin; Amanda Jo Ellison of Donnellson, Iowa.
Amy had her masters degree and was employed by JLR Anesthesia Group and worked as a certified registered nurse anesthetist at Florida Hospital in Orlando. She was a member of St. James Cathedral in Orlando. Amy was a veteran. She proudly served as a Captain in the United States Air Force. She loved her dog “Mr. Beasley”. Amy loved to travel and had visited many countries. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends.
Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the Schmitz Funeral Home in Donnellson where the family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. that evening.
A private family burial will be held at the Charleston Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her memory to PAWS in Fort Madison.
