A Minnesota woman lost control of her vehicle and ended up on the railroad tracks early Monday morning. Mt. Pleasant Police were called at 3:45 am to investigate the single vehicle accident on Hwy 218 at the railroad overpass bridge. Aleisa Masong apparently fell asleep while driving south on 218. The vehicle hit the bridge guardrail, became airborne off a steep embankment and landed on the railroad tracks 60 feet below the bridge. Masong was taken to HCHC by ambulance for treatment of minor injuries. She was also charged with failure to maintain control. BNSF officials has to be called to halt train traffic and to inspect the tracks before train travel could resume.
