Strengthening communities and fostering economic opportunities through local partnerships are priorities for Iowa’s rural electric cooperatives. Access Energy Cooperative was recognized by the Iowa Area Development Group (IADG) for outstanding commitment, support, and participation in business development projects and local community initiatives.

As a part of the Northeast Electric Power Cooperative’s (NE Power – electric transmission cooperative and power supplier for Access Energy Cooperative) annual meeting in Hannibal, Missouri, Rand Fisher, IADG president, recognized Access Energy for their commitment to community and business development leadership. Access Energy is steadfastly committed to fostering economic growth through the development of industrial parks, construction of speculative buildings, and program and project support.

“We commend Access Energy for the generous support they provide to economic development initiatives in both business and community development endeavors,” said Fisher. “They are generating a positive impact throughout the ten counties they serve and the state of Iowa.”

The Iowa Area Development Group is the marketing and business development office for nearly 250 of Iowa’s member-owned rural electric cooperatives, select municipal electric utilities and independent telecommunication companies. IADG has assisted with over 2,000 successful business expansions and start-up projects. This growth represents capital investment of more than $10 billion and 50,000 jobs for Iowa. The Iowa Area Development Group was established in 1985 to promote and strengthen rural Iowa development opportunities.
